my system installation steps as per feb 23, 2010

1. install from DVD
2. System>> Administration >> Update Manager
3. Telugu Fonts:
a. download fonts from http://eenadu.net/fonthelp.htm & http://www.sakshi.com/Main/fonthelp.aspx
b. cd Downloads
c. sudo cp eenadu.ttf /usr/share/fonts/truetype/
d. sudo cp SW908.TTF /usr/share/fonts/truetype/
e. sudo apt-get install ttf-telugu-fonts ttf-indic-fonts language-pack-te
4. install new themes ( i really liked these themes)
a. http://www.ubuntugeek.com/nice-themes-for-ubuntu-9-10-karmic-users.html
5. install gnome-do (I felt this is nice docky for ubuntu 9.10)
6. install deluge ( i really liked this torrent. It is fast and nice interface)
7. To install nrg2iso:
a. sudo apt-get install nrg2iso
8. To convert .nrg to .iso:
a. nrg2iso image.nrg image.iso
9. To mount .iso files:
a. sudo mount -o loop asdasd.iso /mnt/iso
10. To install wine:
a. sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
b. sudo apt-get install wine (instead of wine use “wine1.2” )
11. How to created .iso file from Directory or files:
a. sudo apt-get install genisoimage
b. genisoimage -o my_image.iso my_directory
c. genisoimage -o my_image.iso file01 file02 file03
12. Virtual Box installation:
